Transaction Statuses

Collections move through these statuses after initialization.

Status	Description	Conclusive
initiated	The merchant initialized the transaction.	No
pending	The transaction has been acknowledged.	No
ongoing	The customer has not completed authorization.	No
verified	The processor received and verified payment. At this point, you can go ahead to give value to your customers for their purchase/payment	Yes
successful	Settlement completed and funds are in your available balance.	Yes
abandoned	No payment arrived after at least one hour.	Yes

Query a transaction

Use this endpoint to retrieve the latest transaction status. It is an alternative to relying on webhook events.

Replace :reference with the transaction reference. Poll until a conclusive status is returned.
