# Environments & Base URLs

Startbutton uses a single base URL for both sandbox and production:

```
https://api.startbutton.tech
```

There's no separate sandbox URL. Your environment is determined by which keys you use — sandbox and live keys are distinct, so make sure you're using the correct pair for the environment you intend to call. You switch between environments using the toggle on the right side of your dashboard (available once your KYC is approved — see [Sandbox Overview](/startbutton-product-api/testing/sandbox-overview.md)).

Data between sandbox and production is fully isolated even though both share the same base URL.

Combine the base URL with an endpoint path to make a call, e.g.:

POST https://api.startbutton.tech/transaction/initialize
```
